The Scott McBrien Passing Academy (SMPA) is registering four, two-hour youth sessions per month for quarterbacks and skilled-position players interested in improving their football skills beginning in January. BASKETBALL
The Force One U-11 boys basketball team won their league championship against the Team Turner on Nov. 9, 49-35. Center Joe Hampton led the team to victory with 16 points, while point guard Jacob Payne (12 points), Elijah Boyd (10), Cassius Blount (6) and Kyle DePollar (5) also scored. Eric Murray, Gideon Epstein, Charlie Ali, Charlie Kanter and Marcus Hundley also contributed several assists and rebounds in the victory.
HOCKEY
The MYHA's House Midget Gold (2-2) scored four times in the final 7 minutes, 44 seconds to defeat the Midget Blue (2-2), 5-4 Sunday evening. (2-2) 5-4 Sunday evening at Rockville Ice Arena. After a scoreless second period, Blue led 3-1, but Gold's Eval Breit began the third-period with a goal, followed by another from Matt Scheibel. The game-winning goal came off a breakaway by Breit with 2:04 remaining. Gold goaltender Alex Parker stopped 26 shots while Blue goalie Zack DeGraba saved 22.
